🌴 Best Things to Do in Oman 2025 + Top Hotels to Stay

Oman is one of those countries that feels genuinely untouched and authentic. The culture hasn't been diluted, things are properly local, and there's so much to explore—from souks that have been running for centuries to dramatic desert landscapes and stunning coastlines. Here's what I got up to, and where I stayed.

✈️ Best Things to Do in Oman

🏔️ Jebel Akhdar (Green Mountain) – Must Visit

This is an absolute must-visit. The scenery is incredible—dramatic cliffs, lush greenery, and views that go on forever. I did the Go Ape zipline experience, which was brilliant fun, alhamdulillah. If you've got the time, stay here for a couple of nights and take it all in. The cooler mountain air is a nice break from the heat too.

🏝️ Dimaniyat Islands – Best for Snorkeling

Perfect for snorkeling. I went on the sunset trip, which was absolutely beautiful—crystal clear water and amazing marine life. Apparently the morning trips are even better though. If you're into camping, there's an option to stay overnight, which is supposed to be incredible.

🥾 Wadi Shaab – Adventure Hiking Trail

This one's more adventure-focused. You'll do some hiking, wade through water, and if you're confident, there's swimming involved. If it's not your thing, you can just do the hike and turn back. Fair warning: bring physical cash. They charged me about 2 OMR per person for the boat to get to the other side. The last boat leaves at 5pm sharp—don't be late or you're stuck!

🕌 Nizwa – Ancient Culture & Evening Souq

Go in the evening if you can. It's properly cultural, and things haven't been commercialized or changed. There's a gate here that's 1,800 years old. The evening souq is where the energy is—it's vibey and atmospheric in a way that daylight just doesn't capture.

🛍️ Mutrah Souq – Quick Stop for Souvenirs

Quick visit territory. It's fine if you want to pick up some souvenirs, but don't expect to spend hours here. In and out is the vibe.

🌿 Wadi Dayqah National Park – Scenic Hiking

This national park is supposed to be absolutely beautiful. I didn't have enough time to visit, but it's on my list for next time. Perfect for hiking and nature lovers.

💧 Beema Sinkhole – Unique Natural Formation

It's more of a "look at it" kind of spot than an activity. It's striking to see, though the water's a bit murky if you were thinking of a dip.

❄️ Snow Oman – Indoor Ice Skating

If you want something different, Snow Oman is the biggest ice skating rink in the Middle East. Fun for a casual session, especially during hot days.
