The trip starts with a Land Cruiser and a driver who has clearly mastered the art of driving on sand. Within seconds we were flying across dunes, sliding sideways and climbing sand mountains. I genuinely thought we were going to flip at one point, yet somehow he kept total control. It felt like a roller coaster built by nature.

After an adrenaline filled journey we finally arrived and the camp appeared like a hidden oasis in the desert. Golden sand on every side and luxurious tents that looked like they belonged in a movie set.

First Impressions

As soon as we stepped inside, the atmosphere shifted. Calm, warm and peaceful. The kind of silence that makes you stop and breathe properly. Luxury tents, a private beach area and dunes rolling endlessly into the horizon. It felt like a different world.

Food, Football and a Little Adventure

Of course, I had to test my football skills. Chipped the ball a few times, tried not to embarrass myself, and then headed to eat. The food was smoky, grilled and packed with flavour. Honestly, it tasted even better in the middle of the desert.

Then came a questionable choice. Someone asked if I wanted to ride a horse. Without thinking, I said yes. Half a second later I regretted it. I think my face said everything. I was not built for desert horseback heroics.

Sunset Magic

After that mini survival moment, we slowed down and enjoyed what we really came for. The desert at sunset in Qatar is something special. Warm colours, soft wind and a view that makes you forget every stress in life.
