Destination Review
Langkawi is an absolute must-visit for anyone travelling to Malaysia, whether it’s for a honeymoon or a family holiday. We visited Langkawi on our honeymoon and couldn’t be happier with our choice. This island is stunning, from its beautiful skies and delicious food to the kind, welcoming people of Malaysia.
We particularly loved our stay at Berjaya Langkawi Resort and would happily visit both the destination and the resort again. There are plenty of activities to enjoy in Langkawi, including water sports, cable car rides, local beach visits, and even island hopping if you fancy.
If you’re not terrified of animals, you’ll be fine here. You’ll see monkeys doing funny things on the side of the roads and monitor lizards crossing the roads—so be careful not to run them over if you’re driving at night. While we’re not avid animal people, we got used to them after a day or two, just being careful not to get too close, haha.
Overall, we would 100% recommend this destination. You’ll meet people from all walks of life here, and the atmosphere is just great. We love Langkawi!

Berjaya Resort Langkawi
We can’t even begin to explain how amazing this resort was and how highly we recommend it. Berjaya Resort although the furthest on the island from the centre, it was the best decision we made and one of the best stays we have ever had. The resort has everything you need, you don’t have to travel out of the resort if you don’t want to. You can relax on the long white beach they have, go for a swim in the sea or pool, take part in water sports, go to the spa, or even have a gym workout. It is in a great location and is within walking distance of SkyCab and Oriental Village.
Berjaya Resort has breakfast, lunch, and dinner services available alongside room service for those of you who require it. We especially enjoyed dining in Dayang Cafe for the one-of-a-kind breakfast buffet and dinner. The salmon dish at Dayang Cafe is a must-try. We also went to the Beach Brasserie every afternoon for an 'afternoon snack' service that they offered; some items tickled our fancy others did not. The food at this resort is halal and there is something for everyone.
The resort offers a variety of different rooms for visitors depending on your needs. We chose to stay in their Chalet On Water room, though they have a selection of rooms available on the water, grounds and in the forest - including chalets, villas, and cabins.
We highly recommend Berjaya Resort if you’re planning a holiday in Langkawi. We would also like to give a special thank you to all the staff at Berjaya Resort, specifically Zakariya, Ahmed, Azrul, Faiz, Rizwan and especially Ajit, they all made us feel at home and were always happy to help. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would happily return again to the island resort.

Best Things To Do In Langkawi
1. Crocodile Land
We recently visited Crocodile Adventureland Langkawi, and wow, what an adventure! This place is a must-visit if you're in Pulau Langkawi. From crocodile fishing to the jumping crocodile show, there’s something for everyone. We even got to feed juvenile crocodiles and snap some cool photos with them. The private tour was amazing—our guide was super knowledgeable about crocodiles and their behaviour.
Located on the road to Datai Bay, it’s just a short drive from Kuah Town and Langkawi International Airport. Established in 1993, this park is home to nearly 4000 crocodiles, including the fearsome Bujang Lang, a massive 1000-kilogram saltwater crocodile. Trust us, seeing Bujang Lang up close is an experience you won’t forget!
Crocodile Adventureland Langkawi is both fun and educational, making it perfect for families and adventure seekers alike. Don't miss it!
2. SkyCab Cable Car Ride
If you're in Langkawi, you simply must ride the Sky Cab and visit the stunning Langkawi Sky Bridge.
Did you know the Sky Cab boasts a spot in the Malaysia Book of Records for being 'The Longest Free Span Mono-Cable'? It’s an exhilarating experience you can’t afford to miss!
Hop aboard the cable car and take in the breathtaking views of mountains, valleys, and the shimmering sea right beneath you. It's like floating in the air!
The cable car whisks you up to the splendid Langkawi Sky Bridge, perched 2,300ft above sea level. This bridge is among the longest curved pedestrian bridges in the world and offers sweeping 360° panoramic views of the island. It’s also an incredibly Instagrammable spot, perfect for capturing those picture-perfect moments.
So, if you want an unforgettable experience with jaw-dropping views, the Langkawi Sky Bridge is the place to be!
3. Oriental Village
The enchanting Oriental Village is nestled at the foothills of Machinchang Cambrian Geoforest Park. Just a short drive from Kuah Jetty and Langkawi International Airport, this place is a must-see!
Home to the famous Langkawi SkyCab and SkyBridge, Oriental Village is perfect for all ages. With breathtaking surroundings and unique spots for Instagram-worthy photos, it's a paradise for shutterbugs. We found it had everything from best-value souvenirs and casual clothing to delicious food with over 95 outlets, stores, and kiosks to explore.
For added convenience, there are prayer rooms, ATMs, and money changer kiosks around the village. Whether you’re hunting for souvenirs or just soaking in the scenic views, Oriental Village has it all.
4. Cenang Mall
We had an amazing time at Cenang Mall in Pantai Cenang, Langkawi. This place is the perfect blend of modern shopping and beach vibes. With its vibrant and sleek design, it’s become Langkawi’s top shopping destination.
The mall is packed with quality shops, restaurants, and cafes that cater to both tourists and locals. You’ll find all your favourite brands here like Starbucks, 7-Eleven, Guardians, KFC, and even a McDonald’s kiosk. Plus, it’s super convenient with facilities like wheelchair accessibility, a baby changing station, and a prayer room.
What we loved most is the relaxed, air-conditioned environment—it’s perfect for escaping the tropical heat while enjoying some retail therapy. Whether you're looking for a quick snack or a full shopping spree, Cenang Mall has got you covered. Don’t miss out on this ultimate shopping experience in Langkawi!
5. Cenang Beach
We had an absolute blast at Pantai Cenang in Langkawi. This place is buzzing with energy and has so much to offer. We loved watching the fire show in the evening and catching the stunning sunset. If you’re into water sports, you’re in for a treat! There are tons of vendors offering packages for all sorts of activities.
For a romantic evening, you can enjoy a sunset dinner at one of the many restaurants or relax on bean bags while watching the fire show—it’s just RM 40+ for a couple. The area is also great for street shopping and dining, but we recommend booking any Kilim Geoforest tours directly from their website.
Pantai Cenang is located on the west coast of Langkawi and is known for its beautiful beaches, lively vibe, and fun activities. From scuba diving to island-hopping, there’s something for everyone. Don’t miss the chance to explore this tropical paradise!
6. Water Sports
If you're up for an adventure, Langkawi’s pristine beaches are the place to be. We had an exhilarating time with all the water-based activities available. From parasailing and scuba diving to jet skiing and banana boat riding, there’s something for everyone!
For parasailing and jet skiing, head to Pantai Cenang Beach. Pantai Tengah Beach is ideal for banana boat riding, while Pasir Tengkorak Beach is great for a relaxing swim. For snorkelling, Tanjung Rhu Beach is the best spot.
Remember, there’s no entrance fee for the beaches, but water activities do cost extra. Avoid water activities during the monsoon season, and don’t forget to bring an extra pair of clothes! Plan for at least 2 hours to fully enjoy the fun.
