Rating: ⭐⭐☆☆☆
Our recent visit to Three Sixty, the much-anticipated 360-degree view restaurant located in The Torch Tower, left us with mixed feelings and a sense of disappointment.
To begin, our expectations were initially set on a positive note as we were greeted warmly by the restaurant staff. We had heard about the highly sought-after sunset seats and specifically requested them. Thankfully, our request was granted, even though the restaurant was nearly empty at the time, leaving us wondering why the need for lengthy discussions.
The professional manner in which our orders were taken hinted at a promising dining experience. However, the evening took an unfortunate turn when our complimentary bread basket arrived with an unwelcome guest – a flea. Our shock and disgust were met with silence as we asked for a replacement. To our surprise and disappointment, there were absolutely no apologies or recognition from the staff regarding this unfortunate incident. This lack of accountability cast a shadow over our entire dining experience, leaving us cautious and uncomfortable throughout the evening.
When it came time to settle the bill, we were met with yet another disappointment. No acknowledgment or apology was extended for the earlier incident, and we were charged the full amount without any compensation or complimentary items. This is unusual for a fine dining establishment and further compounded our dissatisfaction.
The ambiance at Three Sixty was far from what we expected in a restaurant with a 360-degree view. The restaurant was dimly lit, making it difficult to appreciate the view. What frustrated us the most was the restaurant's slow revolving mechanism, which only allowed us to experience a fraction of the promised panoramic view. To make matters worse, bollards were placed in the middle of the seating area, obstructing the view and defeating the whole purpose of dining at a 360-degree restaurant. To add to the disappointment, the windows were so dirty that it hindered our ability to enjoy the promised view of the city.
In conclusion, Three Sixty in The Torch Tower fell short of our expectations on multiple fronts. While the initial greetings and professionalism of the staff were commendable, the presence of a flea in our complimentary bread set a negative tone, which was further compounded by the lack of apologies or recognition. The underwhelming ambiance, slow rotation mechanism, bollards obstructing the view, and dirty windows all hindered our ability to appreciate the view. For a fine dining establishment with a premium price tag, this was a truly disappointing evening that didn't live up to the restaurant's potential. We left Three Sixty with a sense of missed opportunities and a strong desire for a more satisfying dining experience.
COMPLIMENTARY BREAD (WITH A COMPLIMENTARY FLY)
The complimentary bread served at Three Sixty had a glaring issue – a fly on one of the pieces. Not only was it unappetizing, but the bread itself was disappointingly dry. The saving grace was the sauce provided, which added some flavour to an otherwise lackluster start to our meal.
SICILIANO ARANCINI - 55 RIYALS
The starters at Three Sixty left much to be desired. While they earned a mediocre 6/10 for taste, their value for money was even more disappointing, scoring a mere 4/10. They lacked the promised spice and turned out to be remarkably bland, failing to live up to our expectations. Presentation was strong and the portions were not tiny.
MAINS
CRUMBLED SEARED SEABASS - 135 RIYALS
Despite our disappointments earlier in the evening, the crumbled seared seabass was a standout dish that exceeded our expectations. It earned an impressive 9/10 for its taste and flavour, and an 8/10 for presentation. The unique and exquisite flavours turned it into a culinary delight, making it a memorable highlight of our dining experience. This dish alone might entice us to return to Three Sixty.
BRAISED LAMB SHANK 8 HOURS - 140 RIYALS
The braised lamb shank, while cooked to perfection with tender meat falling off the bone, left much to be desired in terms of flavour, scoring a disappointing 3/10. Its presentation earned a moderate 6/10, though it looked better in the pictures. To our dismay, despite requesting spiciness in both main courses, the restaurant provided chili flakes for us to add ourselves, which was rather underwhelming.
